“Making friends and uniting communities one monument at a time.”
Good day gamers,
I got a chance to play Fantastic Factories for my first time at my friend’s house.
Here is a quick run down in no particular order:
- The game is very colorful, dice placement game, and has a lot of iconography.
- The game play is simple, but the combinations can be complex and thus leads to interesting strategies.
- It seems like there are multiple ways to win and the player would just work some combos and head on down that strategy to gain victory points.
- It reminded me of Race for the Galaxy as the game will end when someone lays out ten cards in their tableau or gain 12VPs. Then the game lasts one more round.
- I ended up with two Obelisks in my opening hand and then came across the Beacons and the Megamonument (sp?) and decided to go that path of just straight victory points. However, I found myself short of metal in mid-game, so I had to do some other stuff.
- In the 2nd to last hand, I did some actions to get a bunch of cards and pulled two Beacons and I was able to play both. Since I already had one played, I ended up with a final score of 9 points just from that and I did win the game.
- With experienced players this could be a 30-40 minutes game.
- This game would be good for families with kids 10+ or as a filler game. It fits a good niche.
I give Fantastic Factories Seven Robots.
See you soon!
