“Making friends and uniting communities one holiday at a time.”
Good day gamers,
Lots going on as usual and if you have a story that you want me to tell, please feel free to send it to me at Dave@GameMasterGames.com
- Just had friends over yesterday to play a bunch of games. Too much fun. Learned Bang! The Dice Game, got a refresher on Clank!, played some Baseball Highlights 2045, and almost finished a five-player Agricola game!
- Finished up my Empire State College class of Modern American History with an ‘A’. Got a 97% on my Milton Bradley final paper. I have posted it here in this dispatch, so check it out, if interested.
- Working on OctaCon convention at the Bethpage Library and hope to finalize some things for FATDOG in November.
- Been playing a long campaign of Dominions 5 and some Hearts of Iron too.
- Ginger has had multiple weddings this week. They have been great. Some mask issues, some minor incidents, but the what Ginger has expressed the most has been the immense joy on the participants faces. That is what life is about, right? Friends, family, fun, joy, great experiences, and most of all love. There is too much pain in the world. Let’s all try and create more joy.
Labor Day: Today is the traditional holiday celebration of Labor Day. This is the day we celebrate the hard work and effort of workers both present and past. There is a lot of history to this holiday that I was not aware of. I just looked it up on Wikipedia here.
Traditionally, for Americans today, Labor Day is celebrated with good shopping deals at stores, having friends and family over for a barbecue, going out to the movies, the last weekend at the beach, and lots and lots more. I remember from my childhood that it also signified the beginning of the school year, since I’m pretty sure school started on the Tuesday after Labor Day in my hometown.
Don’t know what else to say about this holiday other than stay safe, have fun, play a game with someone if possible, and spread joy and hope to those around you.
See you soon!
- Game Master Dave
Foxy Joan, “David Dear, your hydration levels after gaming yesterday are way down. You must hydrate. Could you please move your den to near a forest stream? It would be more healthy for you to drink fresh, cold, stream water for you. I will be watching.”
Lamby Pie, “Dude, you killed it in Clank! Last time I played with Robert, I got the thirty point treasure too, but didn’t make it out before I bit the dust. Too much fun. That cake looked good too, where did it go?”
Snuggle Bunny, “Boo boo, you scared me coming out of da batroom. Don’t do dat again! Where is Fred?”
Chester, “Chester.”
