Good day gamers,

  • Been streaming quite a bit on my Twitch Channel and transferring over to YouTube. With the last few days started a Stellaris and Out of the Park Baseball campaign.
  • I finally have a day off during the week. For those of you that don’t know, after I closed down my gaming retail store, I picked up a job at the United States Postal Service. The number of packages I delivered over the last month was staggering. I was completely exhausted.
  • Been reading a great book with Ginger, The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. We are reading a chapter every night at dinner. Amazing information about trees and forests.

Holiday Madness: So, as a Letter Carrier with the USPS, I am scheduled to delivery about 50 parcels a day on my regular route. Most days for the last month, I’ve delivered 175-200 parcels. I hit a record of parcel delivery about a week before Christmas at 275 parcels. Crazy. I’ve been working 11-14 hour days for about a month. Madness.

Holiday Gladness: My Christmas was great. I spent a lot of time with my wife, Ginger. I ‘zoomed’ with my Mom, my step-kids, my brother, friends, other family. I watched movies, chatted on the phone, opened up and gave out presents, attended church. This was a good holiday. I am very blessed and very much loved.

Holiday Sadness: There are so many that are suffering this holiday season for many reasons. Homelessness, loss of jobs, loss of family members due to Covid-19 or other reasons, the inability to get together in person, loneliness and depression. This has been a hard season. Even for me, though my Christmas celebrations were great, I’m different at work. I’m irritated. I’m angry. The politics don’t help. People are suffering. What can we do? What can I do right now? We need to help in anyway we are able.

2021: Looking forward to the new year. Looking forward to seeing friends in person. Looking forward to several gaming conventions coming up virtually. Perhaps I may even be able to attend one in person. I look forward to another year of better managed Madness, a growth of Gladness and mitigating Sadness. Reach out. Smile. Give of yourself. Let’s make 2020 awesome!

Thank you for reading to the end of another of my Semi-Daily Blog. Give yourself 100 XP and until we meet again across the internet, keep your eyes dry from tears, your arms ready for the vaccine and your HOPE strong!!!

See you soon!

Foxy Joan: “David dear, during these package runs, you did not hydrate sufficiently. Clear liquids, not the Deet Koka, is very important. Please correct yourself before I correct you. Love you.”

Lamby: “Dude, the tree looks dope. Too bad is of the plastic. I could have dug whiffing some realio pine. Maybe next year?”

Snuggle Bunny: “Boo boo, where does Mama keep the chocolate?”

Chester: “Chester.”
