“Making friends and uniting communities one convention at a time.”
Good day gamers,
Here are some things…
- Having people over to play Advanced Civilization, one of my top 20 favorite games. I’m sure I’ll post about what happened.
- Been reading John Keegan’s First World War for my Empire State College World War I class. Very good.
- Attended my union’s NY State Convention. Learned a lot about legislation that is pertinent to Letter Carriers, learned about Postmaster General DeJoy, met a bunch of new people, and saw old friends.
- Ginger played a lot of solitaire Mariposas and Castles of Mad King Ludwig.
OctaCon 8: The Bethpage Library and Game Master Games presents OctaCon 8 Hybrid Convention. Here are some things you need to know, because it’s not your usual convention…
- The convention will be held in person at the Bethpage Library as well as on Zoom and other platforms.
- Due to the pandemic and the Delta Variant, the library is not allowing large numbers of people to enter the library and wander around like a normal convention. Attendees will need to register for each event and then for the in person events, arrive at the library and head to the designated table. When the event is done, the attendee is expected to move to another game they have registered for or leave.
- We don’t have any vendors this year.
- There will be limited open gaming space, but the tables will have to be reserved using the same registration system as the scheduled games.
- The online games will most likely be using Zoom or another platform like Tabletop Simulator or Board Game Arena.
- The library is not enforcing showing vaccination card or wearing of masks, but please be respectful for in person events. Please have a mask available if the Game Master asks for players to be masked.
- The registration page is coming soon for all for all the events.
- Please email me with questions: Dave@GameMasterGames.com
Can’t wait to see you in person or online!
- Game Master Dave
