“Making friends and uniting communities one library event at a time.”
Good day gamers,
OctaCon Saturday was a huge success!
Here is our After Action Report!
Come down Sunday, 11am-5pm at the Bethpage Library!!!
We think the heavy downpour kept a few people away, but those that ventured out all said they had an excellent time! Here are some notes in no particular order:
- David Miller’s Thunder Road ran at least three times, if not four and everyone had a blast!
- The Children’s Library Riddle Room was booked and was awesome.
- Thank you to the volunteers that helped Ginger with the games upstairs to included the incredibly popular ‘Elephant March’.
- LIRetro brough several set-ups and many people enjoyed playing video games.
- Thank you to all my volunteers and GMs that helped out today!
- Board Games for the Better got many donations. Thank you everyone!
- Over 60 games were played downstairs and probably another 20+ in the Children’s Library and another 20+ in the front lobby with Ginger!
- We had over 65 visitors downstairs and another untold number upstairs! Probably about 90 visitors for the day.
- The Play to Win program was a success with many games played and many raffle tickets filled out.
- A mother got a chance to play D&D for the first time with her son.
- Josie was successful at demoing his new game Land & Magic. He will be back Sunday and would love your feedback!
- Crokinole was popular as ever! Big thanks to the Brooklyn Crokinole Club. They will be back Sunday!
