“Making friends and uniting communities one convention at a time.”
Good day gamers,
Wow…quite a month!!! November has been awesome! But it was busy, I’m tired, and I lost my voice.
- Compass Games Convention was great with my friend Anthony. Kris (with a ‘K’) joined us up in CT for three days of wargaming and other games. The featured event was WW2 Deluxe by Canvas Temple Publishing. Read a bit more below. We also played Game of Thrones: Hand of the King, 2-player Codenames (not Duet), Silver & Gold, a game in development Banish the Snakes, one of my top ten favorite games Napoleon as well as Napoleon at Waterloo, Tank Duel, The Grizzled, and Red November. Wow! And since I’m studying WW1 at Empire State College this semester, I bought The Lamps Are Going Out, my first Compass Games game.
- Then Ginger and I went to Time Flight, or the LIWho Convention this year by Long Island Doctor Who. We, of course, taught board games and had a lot of fun seeing friends from two years ago for the first time. It wasn’t too busy, but was still awesome! We taught or played a lot of Quorridor, as well as Quarto, Azul, Silver & Gold, War with the Evil Power Master, Dixit, Mariposas, Wingspan, Game of Thrones: Hand of the King, and Ingenious. Amazingly, Ginger also joined in with a ukulele meetup. Too much fun.
- Then, sadly, Chris and I decided not to run FATDOG (Friday After Thanksgiving Day of Gaming). Because of safety precautions and finding a venue that would help us with protocols, as well as a poll we did, it just didn’t seem right to put people at risk for just a few hours of gaming. We are looking forward to 2022 and are talking about other events as well. Let’s see what the new year brings with the pandemic and in-person gaming. Enjoy your holidays and play some games safely with friends and family.
I will post more as time permits and thank you everyone for checking out my dispatch.
Dang it…can’t post pictures right now. Something is wrong with WordPress.
See you soon!
