Good day gamers,

  • Playing Tank Duel, Ardennes ’44, Dwarf Fortress, Close Combat and Won Voyages of Marco Polo.
  • I’m involved in a challenging competitive game of Dominions 5.
  • Streamed some Dwarf Fortress. It’s on my YouTube Channel, but don’t watch. Boring, since I don’t know what I’m doing. LOL
  • Got some nice notes from family and friends on Veterans Day.
  • Less packages yesterday at the Post Office. This is the ‘lull before the storm’ of the holiday package rush. Mail your parcels early. 🙂

Veteran’s Day: For those of you that don’t know, it’s Veteran’s Day today. Please remember those that served or are serving. Here is the Wikipedia Link for further information about the history of this day.

Thank you for all the nice notes I received from friends and family. I just sent my brother, Stan, a note too. He served in the Air Force. I was in the Army. Here is a quick rundown of my career:

  • Enlisted into the Reserve at 17 with parent’s signature. Job: Field Artillery
  • Went to Basic Training in between Junior and Senior years of High School.
  • Did weekend drills in Jersey City, NJ. 42nd Infantry Division.
  • Went to Norwich University, the Military College of Vermont and transferred to the Vermont National Guard. There were no firing batteries, so ended up in a Service Battery.
  • Left college and came back to NJ and transferred to National Guard out of Morristown, NJ. This was a firing battery again.
  • Served 1986-1994.
  • After 9/11, re-enlisted into the Regular Army and went back to Basic Training in 2003. This time my job was Armor or the M1 Abrams tank.
  • Started out as a driver, then became a loader, then a gunner and finally a tank commander and section leader.
  • Served in South Korea for 2.5 years, attained the rank of SGT (E-5).
  • Decided not to reenlist, so I could return to my family and the US.

Library Events: If you didn’t know already, Ginger and I have been involved with Library events for over seven years now. We have had OctaCon Gaming Convention at the Bethpage Library for the last six years and we have also done events at the Farmingdale Library and the Syosset Library. Years ago I taught games at the Mineola Library. Ginger, just last night, did a D&D Tween/Teen event. She had fun. Four people attended.

LIRetro, who I’m also associated with does a lot of video game events at Libraries or at least used to. I’m sure that once we can all gather once again, they will start that up.

Have you attended any Library events? What kind of events would you like to see more of? Send us some feedback at Dave@GameMasterGames.com.

Streaming Question: I am going to start streaming soon on Monday nights, after the Call of Cthulhu campaign I’m playing in is done. What would you personally like to see me stream?

  • Dwarf Fortress?
  • EVE Online?
  • Hearts of Iron?
  • Stellaris?
  • Europa Universalis?
  • Close Combat?
  • Board Game Arena?
  • Gaming Talk Show?

Send me some feedback at Dave@GameMasterGames.com.

I probably need to do a Google Forms for surveys. 🙂

If anyone is familiar with WordPress Blogs, please also contact me. I have a few questions. Or is there a number I can call? Hmmmm…need to fix a few things.

Thank you once again for reading another of Dave’s Semi-Daily Dispatches. We hope you enjoyed. Give yourself 100 XP! And until we meet again across the internet, keep your powder dry, your ‘Thank Yous” to Veterans ready and your Patriotism Strong!!!

Lambie, “We salute you dude. That tank is da bomb. I just watched a YouTube video on it. Check it out here, my man. TANKS for your service.”

Snuggle Bunny, “Boo Boo, we are out of nanas.”
