What a beautiful day today, finally. Has anyone else noticed that it has rained a lot more this year than other years? It seems like most of the days for the last month, it has rained or threatened rain. Today, it’s actually hot.
Weekly Word: If you missed the Weekly Word last night, you may want to check it out, especially if you have played the game ‘Welcome to…your perfect home’ before. Last night, I taught the game on the show and the hosts played along and other people played at home by either downloading the app or downloading the play sheet from the manufacturer website and printing it out. You can actually watch the video and play along, even though you didn’t see it live. Check it out. Weekly Word. We also talked about how the LIRetro Convention in August is postponed, but in it’s place on August 8 and 9 is Uplink, a Retro Video Gaming Convention. Masks: I can’t believe that some of my co-workers, though we are supposed to wear a mask at work, sometimes ‘forget’ to put it on when they walk into the building. I can’t believe that some people have been walking into 7-11 not wearing a mask. I can’t believe that peopled gathered in bars starting yesterday having a grand old time as if nothing has happened. I just can’t believe. Tough times. I am wearing a mask to protect myself and others. I am wearing a mask to protect Ginger. I am wearing a mask, because it just makes sense right now. I want to take off my mask and I will, but not any time soon.
Civ4: I have been playing some Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword expansion with some friends on Steam. Having too much fun. I’m not sure the War Elephants are working out the best for me in the current war I’m waging. Argh. Do you have a funny Civilization story? We would love to hear about it. Verizon: Just got Verizon installed and will be cancelling my Cablevision/Optimum account. My internet was unstable and cut out occasionally. In addition, I think Verizon will be cheaper for us. I’m sure you do. Let us know.
Birthday Parties: A few of my friends have had birthdays in the last couple months and since we can’t get together, they have just been signing into Zoom and we all gather for a bit. It has been fun, but also a little annoying. There is nothing like blowing out some candles and cutting up a cake. 🙂
